In 2004, after founding Enabling Strategies Inc. in Toronto, the vibrant cosmopolitan city of lights, we began developing and constructing retail stores across the Greater Toronto Area. These retail spaces brought a refined ambiance to modern urban life and delivered exceptional shopping experiences for both customers and retailers. Over the last 14 years, we successfully remodeled and sold more than 2,000,000 square feet of retail space and 50,000 square feet of distribution centers throughout Ontario, Canada.

In January 2018, we relocated our headquarters from Ontario, Canada, to California, United States, establishing Building the Bay. During our initial years, we focused on completing several small residential projects, laying a strong foundation for our operations in Silicon Valley and the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. Through these early projects, we gained valuable insights into the local industry and built skilled, dedicated teams, a job well accomplished.

We work in close collaboration with leading industry experts who bring decades of collective experience in real estate development and heritage preservation. Many homes in the Bay Area were originally built between the 1920s and 1950s, a time of timeless character, yet limited by the design needs of that era. As lifestyles and expectations have evolved, we’ve embraced the opportunity to reimagine these classic neighborhoods with modern, contemporary homes designed by our team of architects, designers, and structural engineers. Their innovative designs blend functionality, elegance, and sustainability, helping communities adapt beautifully to the demands of modern living.

We are currently planning and developing multiple single-family home projects across established communities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Our active project sites include Los Altos, Palo Alto, Oakland Hills, Orinda, Fremont, and Concord. Most involve new home construction, while one unique project focuses on rebuilding an existing single-family home, maintaining its original footprint while completely transforming its interior.

Following the success of several projects across the San Francisco Bay Area, our long-term architectural and civil engineering consultants encouraged us to extend our expertise to support their clients directly, leveraging our industry connections, experience, and technical knowledge. After their repeated requests, we took this opportunity seriously and established a new company, Design and Building Systems LLC, with the slogan “Building the Bay.”

This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, one that allows us to work even more closely with our valued clients to bring their visions to life. Through Design and Building Systems, we offer complete customization and remodeling services, helping homeowners transform and personalize their existing spaces according to their unique requirements and aspirations.
